A model string is vendor/model, the same shape everywhere in the catalog.GET /models returns what we carry along with the per-million price we bill at. The available flag is the one to check before you call: it is true when the model's provider is connected on this deployment, and false when we list and price the model but cannot serve it yet.

The capability block is for choosing a model programmatically: filter on capabilities.vision to find models that take images, input_modalities for audio or PDF-capable ones, context_length to fit a long prompt. Where we have no verified metadata for a model the fields are simply absent, never guessed, so their presence can be trusted.

The catalog is live, and so is your key: when a new model or provider is connected it is callable immediately with the key you already have. Nothing to regenerate, nothing to redeploy; use the new model string and it works. The same applies to price changes, which take effect per request.
